Infrastructure

We want our buildings and networks to be as resilient as possible when natural hazard events happen, to protect lives and reduce social and economic distress. Our infrastructure should also be easy to repair so any disruption is minimised.

We’ve studied past events to see how our infrastructure performed, and we’ve used that information to design more resilient structures and networks, and improved engineering codes and standards.
