Aotearoa New Zealand faces increasingly complex risks from natural hazard events. To set us on a pathway to future resilience, our governance structures as well as our planning, policy and investment choices should be informed by the latest resilience knowledge and tools.
However, there are currently barriers to implementing resilient policy, due to associated institutional, political and economic risks facing decision-makers.
