Sally is a senior social scientist at GNS Science, with a background in geosciences and emergency management. She researches early warning systems, particularly the communication of forecasts and warnings for a range of natural hazards and how people respond.
Her current focus is on impact-based warnings for severe weather and understanding user needs for science advice. She is the co-lead of the World Meteorological Organization’s High Impact Weather research programme, linking her to a global network of experts.
