Resilience Challenge: Phase 1
Phase 1 of the Resilience Challenge ran from July 2015 – June 2019. The science was headlined by four “Co-creation Laboratories” where research users and stakeholders join with researchers to co-design and co-create resilience research solutions in the Rural, Urban, Māori and Edge (coastal) environments.
The four Laboratories were supported by six “Resilience Toolboxes“, in which resilience-specific technical solutions were developed and applied across the greatest priority areas of engagement represented by the Co-creation Laboratory programmes.
In addition to the Laboratories and Toolboxes, Phase 1 of the Challenge also invested in individual research projects. One of those was an ongoing Co-creation Monitoring project. We also commissioned two projects during the establishment phase of the Challenge, the results of which informed development of the research programme: Engaging New Zealand in RNC Challenge research, and a Review of resilience benchmarks and monitoring protocols.
